**Construction Begins on US$6 Million Puruni Bridge in Region Seven**
Construction has officially commenced on a new bridge across the Puruni River in Region Seven (Cuyuni-Mazaruni), Guyana. The project, valued at US$6 million, is funded by the Government of Guyana and is intended to replace the existing pontoon crossing.
The initiative is part of a broader government effort to enhance connectivity, transportation infrastructure, and economic development within the country’s hinterland regions.
Officials have set a completion deadline for the project of December 2026.
