Soca Artiste J Angel Resolves Legal Dispute Over Unauthorized Use of Her Content

Soca artiste J Angel recently revealed that she has privately resolved a legal dispute involving a local comedian who allegedly utilized her image and music video content without requisite authorization. The comedian’s parody, which amassed hundreds of thousands of views, was claimed to have tarnished J Angel’s brand and instigated online mockery. The artiste refrained from a public response at the outset, instead focusing on securing legal representation and collecting relevant evidence.

J Angel reported the incident to her attorneys, as well as the TTPS Cybercrime Unit. As an independent artiste, she underlined her right to safeguard her image and intellectual property, particularly given the substantial investment she made into her Carnival campaign and music projects.

The artiste also touched upon the difficulties faced by women in the entertainment sector, categorizing it as predominantly male and increasingly challenging for aspiring female artistes. Despite the adversity, she stated that the experience reinforced her resolve to defend her brand and pursue professional growth.

While the controversy stirred up a significant public reaction, J Angel confirmed that the matter has now been resolved privately. She expressed gratitude towards her supporters, legal team, and industry peers who extended their support during this challenging period. As she looks to the future, fans can anticipate new music and a music video, underscoring her commitment to her career and brand protection.
