Authorities in Roeselare, Belgium, are investigating the death of 60-year-old Geert W., who died in a house fire during the night between Tuesday and Wednesday. The incident occurred at a residence located on the Hoogleedsesteenweg.
Preliminary reports indicate that the victim had been doused with gasoline. Additionally, it has been reported that the man had recently suffered a brain hemorrhage. His wife, who was present at the scene, remained largely unharmed.
An investigating judge has been appointed to the case, as officials suspect the fire was not accidental. The circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation.
