Lahore Police arrested six individuals on Thursday in connection with separate investigations into sexual crimes against women and children. The arrests were confirmed by a spokesperson for the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Operations.
According to police reports, the Mustafabad Police arrested a suspect identified as Haris in a rape case. The Bagbanpura Police apprehended a suspect named Riaz in connection with an alleged attempted rape, while the Kahna Police arrested a suspect identified as Ramzan in a similar case.
Additional arrests were made by the Shadbagh Police, who took a suspect named Fareed into custody regarding a rape case. The Sunder Police apprehended a suspect identified as Nisar, and the Shahdara Town Police arrested a suspect named Qasim, both of whom were wanted in connection with rape investigations.
The six suspects have been transferred to the Investigation Wing for further legal proceedings. The police spokesperson stated that law enforcement teams are continuing operations to locate and arrest other individuals wanted for crimes against women and children.
DIG Operations Faisal Kamran stated that the department will continue to take action against those involved in such offenses.
