The local community in Siparia is reeling from the tragic loss of 41-year-old courier, Malcolm Williams, who died in an unfortunate accident at his home on Sunday. Williams, a respected employee of Massy Stores, was attempting to pick coconuts at his Marigold Drive residence when the accident occurred, leaving his family and the wider community in a state of shock. Despite rumors, the family has firmly dismissed any speculation of foul play, describing the incident as a tragic mishap.
The afternoon of the incident saw a sudden turn of events. Williams had gone outside to pick coconuts when a loud crash was heard by his relatives. He was later found unresponsive and injured near a drain. Emergency services were immediately called, and Williams was rushed to the Siparia District Health Facility where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Christine Panchoo, Williams’ mother-in-law, gave a chilling account of the moments after the fall. She discovered Williams with a significant chest injury and attempted to stem the bleeding while awaiting emergency services. Panchoo also took a moment to defend her daughter, Roxanne, Williams’ common-law wife, from local gossip, stating that Roxanne was not present at the time of the fall.
Known and admired by his colleagues at Massy Stores and his neighbors in Siparia, Williams’ untimely death has left a profound impact on the community. As the family prepares to bid their final farewell this Friday, they have requested privacy and respect during this difficult time.
