A tragic incident unfolded in Sea Lots, where 52-year-old Hasim Ali was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl on Wednesday, 27th May 2026. The following day, Ali was reportedly assaulted by local residents who had learned of the incident. The police, upon receiving the report, responded swiftly alongside the Emergency Health Services (EHS). Ali was found in critical condition and was immediately rushed to the Port of Spain General Hospital. Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, Ali succumbed to his injuries. The incident has sparked a debate on vigilante justice and the protection of children in the community.
