In Para, a 58‑year‑old woman, identified only as H.L., was attacked by her 61‑year‑old brother‑in‑law, A.P.S., after a dispute over a metal spoon. According to police reports, the brother‑in‑law used a sharp object to strike the woman and subsequently threatened her with death. The incident escalated on Thursday when the two argued about the spoon. A.P.S. not only assaulted H.L. but also threatened her life. During the confrontation, an egg carton was damaged; the suspect later claimed he was unaware of the damage. A.P.S. admitted guilt to the police in Rijsdijk. He was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, threat, and property damage. After consultation with the Public Prosecutor’s Office, he was released from custody. The case remains under investigation.
