Residents of Sangre Grande have voiced their frustration over persistent water shortages, pointing the finger at the Tompire water plant where promised upgrades by the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) have allegedly been delayed. These grievances were brought to light at the PNM General Council, where a commitment was made to escalate these issues in Parliament. The council described the situation as a ‘failure of basic service delivery’ and vowed to explore other measures to hold the government accountable.
