Sanad: Iraq targets simultaneous nationwide 5G rollout

**Iraq Plans Simultaneous Nationwide 5G Deployment**

Baghdad – The Iraqi federal government is preparing to launch a coordinated rollout of fifth‑generation (5G) mobile telecommunications services across all of the country’s governorates, including the autonomous Kurdistan Region. The initiative was outlined by Minister of Communications Mustafa Sanad, who said the government aims to introduce the new network technology simultaneously throughout Iraq.

Sanad indicated that the rollout will be synchronized to ensure uniform coverage and to avoid disparities between the central and regional areas. The plan involves cooperation with local authorities and private telecom operators to meet the technical and regulatory requirements for 5G deployment.

No specific timeline or launch date was disclosed in the announcement. The government has not released details on the spectrum allocation process, funding mechanisms, or the expected impact on consumers and businesses.

The announcement was first reported by Iraqi News.
