Salud Pública realiza en Puerto Plata jornada de vacunación contra la influenza estacional

Puerto Plata – The national seasonal influenza vaccination campaign is progressing well in the Atlantic province, according to officials from the Ministry of Public Health. The program prioritizes adults aged 65 and older and pregnant women, aiming to reduce complications from the respiratory infection. Children aged 6 to 35 months, health‑care workers, and individuals with chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, or hypertension—regardless of age—are also eligible for the vaccine. Vaccinations are being administered at the Provincial Health Directorate (DPS) from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and at Primary Care Centers throughout Puerto Plata. Dr. Héctor Hernández, director of Public Health for the province, urged residents to visit the authorized vaccination sites to help prevent the spread of influenza.
