From September 26 to October 2, soldiers and military equipment of the brigade stationed at the Adaiai and Ceri military bases will travel by road and rail to training sites in eastern Latvia. The exercises will take place in the municipalities of Jėkabpilio, Aizkrauklės, Daugpilio, Alūksnės, Balvų, Gulbenės, Maduonos, Rėzeknės and Aukštutinės Dauguvos, as well as in the city of Rėzeknės. During the drills, brigade units will conduct force redeployment, logistics, command and communication tasks, and will strengthen cooperation with the Latvian national armed forces. The primary objective is to test the brigade’s ability to redeploy combat‑ready forces over long distances, supply its units, and coordinate their activities in field conditions while maintaining effective command, control and communications throughout the exercise. Lieutenant Colonel Davidas Brassard, commander of the brigade, said the training would demonstrate the brigade’s capacity to redeploy forces at long distances, sustain their operations in the field, and ensure effective leadership, management and communications during the entire exercise. He added that the brigade’s success also depends on its ability to operate beyond the boundaries of the military bases and maintain effective communication across the entire battlefield. From October 4 to 8, the units will clear the training areas and return to their bases.
