Casper Ruud will face Carlos Alcaraz in the semifinals of the Paris Masters 1000 after defeating Nuno Borges 7‑6(5), 6‑4 on Friday. The 27‑year‑old Norwegian won in two sets, while Borges, who entered the main draw from the qualifiers, recorded the best result of his career at a Masters 1000 event. The match will be the eighth encounter between the two players. Alcaraz leads the head‑to‑head record 6‑1, with Ruud’s only win coming in an indoor match at the 2024 Masters Series. Ruud has been in strong form on indoor courts, winning 20 of 24 matches since 2025 and capturing the Stockholm title last year. He reached the Paris semifinals without dropping a set and has now secured his 20th Masters 1000 victory of the season, his 11th semifinal appearance in the category and the second of the year after Rome. Borges, ranked world No. 49, became the first player to reach the Paris quarterfinals after qualifying. He will be joined in the other semifinal by Ben Shelton, world No. 4, and Luca Van Assche, world No. 13. Shelton defeated compatriot Tommy Paul 6‑4, 4‑6, 6‑3, while Van Assche overcame Australian Rinky Hijikata 6‑4, 6‑7(7), 7‑5.
