Rowley Refutes Gonzales’s Claim of Racial Bias

Gonzales recently stated that cabinet members were hesitant to create notes for board members, primarily of African descent, due to fear of backlash from the then prime minister, Rowley. The claim suggests that Rowley might have questioned if the board was from Ghana. Rowley, responding from his Goodwood Park residence, denied ever making such a statement. He also voiced his disagreement with Gonzales’s approach to addressing the racial imbalance issue. In his defense, Rowley stated, ‘I believe I understand what he [Gonzales] intended to convey. However, it was inelegantly expressed. Moreover, he made assumptions about my possible remarks, which I am certain I never made.’
