Ronnie Wood, a puro tango en la noche previa de su primer show solista en la Argentina

Ronnie Wood, the longtime guitarist of the Rolling Stones, returned to the tango club Rojo Tango in Puerto Madero on Wednesday night, two days before his solo concert at the Movistar Arena in Buenos Aires. The visit marked his first appearance in the city as a solo artist, although he had been a guest at the club three times in 2016 during the Stones’ “Olé” Latin‑America tour. Wood arrived at the club with his wife, Sally Wood, and the musicians of his solo band. They dined on a menu that included scampi shrimp, ceviche, a white‑salmon main course with broccoli purée, and a dessert of chocolate‑vanilla ice cream and cheesecake. Sally chose a salad and tagliatelle al filetto for her main course, finishing with a classic Argentine flan. During the performance, Wood watched the tango show attentively, applauding each number. He was part of a highlighted moment when a dancer approached his table and danced with him, drawing laughter from the audience. After the show, Wood joined the performers on stage in a violet jacket, orange shirt, and colorful sneakers, greeting dancers, singers and musicians, exchanging hugs and handshakes, and improvising a few dance steps. “It was very friendly, very cordial, and he was attentive to everything at every moment. Having someone from his history choose to return to Rojo Tango before his show in Buenos Aires is a huge pride for the whole team,” said Diego Messano, commercial director of Rojo Tango. Wood’s solo concert, titled Fearless: The Anthology (1965‑2025), will take place on Friday, 6 November at the Movistar Arena. The show will feature his band and a guest appearance by Irish singer Imelda May.
