The family of social media influencer Ashlee Jenae, whose real name was Ashly Robinson, is continuing to seek answers following her tragic death while vacationing in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
Robinson, 31, had been celebrating her birthday and a recent engagement to her boyfriend, Joseph Isaac McCann, during what appeared to be a joyful trip. Photos and videos shared on social media showed the couple enjoying a safari adventure and marking major milestones together.
Authorities in Zanzibar have since concluded that Robinson died by suicide after an investigation that included witness interviews, communications records, and other evidence. Officials stated that there was no indication of foul play and confirmed that McCann was not charged with any offence. According to investigators, evidence suggested Robinson had been experiencing emotional distress prior to her death.
The case initially attracted international attention after reports emerged that Robinson and McCann had been involved in an argument during their stay at the Zuri Zanzibar resort. Hotel staff reportedly separated the pair into different accommodations before Robinson was later found unresponsive and taken to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
