Record-Breaking Wyatt-Hodge Wins ICC Player of the Month After Stellar World Cup

Danni Wyatt-Hodge has been named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for June 2026 after a historic performance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. The England opener finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 302 runs, the highest ever in a single edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup, surpassing Beth Mooney’s 259 runs from 2020.

Wyatt-Hodge’s month was highlighted by a breathtaking unbeaten 105 against Sri Lanka in the tournament opener, helping England post the joint-highest total of 219. She followed up with crucial knocks of 65 against the West Indies and an unbeaten 89 against defending champions New Zealand, knocking them out of the tournament.

‘I’m delighted to win the ICC Player of the Month award, especially since it came for performances at a World Cup on home soil,’ Wyatt-Hodge said. The 34-year-old previously won the award in November 2024 and beat competition from Scotland captain Kathryn Bryce and India spinner Sree Charani.

Her statistics for June were outstanding: 287 runs in six games at an average of 71.75 and a strike rate of 151.85. Wyatt-Hodge also became the first player to breach the 300-run mark in a single ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, cementing her place in cricket history.
