The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast mainly dry weather for most plain areas of the country on Friday, September 18, 2026. However, isolated rain and thunderstorms are expected in Kashmir and surrounding hilly regions.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, conditions are expected to be dry in most districts, with partly cloudy skies in upper regions. Afternoon rain and thunderstorms are anticipated in Abbottabad, Mansehra, and Balakot. Most of Punjab will experience hot and dry weather, though Murree and Galiyat will remain partly cloudy, with potential rain and thunderstorms in Bahawalnagar and Bahawalpur during the evening or night.
Sindh is expected to remain hot and dry, with partly cloudy conditions in coastal areas and potential rain in Tharparkar and Umerkot during the evening or night. Balochistan is also expected to remain hot and dry, while Gilgit-Baltistan is forecast to be partly cloudy.
Over the previous 24 hours, scattered rain and thunderstorms were recorded across parts of Punjab, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and upper Sindh. Sargodha recorded the highest rainfall in Punjab at 58 millimeters. In Kashmir, Muzaffarabad Airport received 37 millimeters of rain, while Kalam recorded 22 millimeters in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Turbat was the hottest location in the country, reaching a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius. Other regions, including Sibi, Dadu, and Khairpur, recorded highs of 40 degrees Celsius.
