Young Dinesh Gadraj, a 20-year-old former student of Shiva Boys Hindu College, is faced with a race against time to raise sufficient funds for a vital stem cell transplant. Scheduled to travel to Apollo Hospital in India in two weeks, Dinesh and his family are desperately trying to raise the more than US$165,000 required for the procedure. Doctors in his home country, Trinidad and Tobago, have exhausted all local treatment options. The Ministry of Health has contributed TT$100,000 towards his treatment and an online fundraiser has currently raised US$3,414. However, the amount required still remains significantly high.
