In a swift response to a reported theft in Marabella on Friday, July 3rd, officers of the Gasparillo Operations Team managed to recover $19,000 in stolen cash and arrest a suspect. The incident began when an employee of a construction company withdrew the said amount from Republic Bank in Marabella and left it in his vehicle near his home. Upon his return, the money was discovered to be missing.
CCTV footage pointed to the occupants of a silver Toyota Axio, bearing the registration number PED 7917, as the culprits. Acting on this information, Ag. Cpl. Huggins, PC Samaroo, and PC Sammy from the Southern Division immediately launched an operation that led them into the Northern Division.
The operation resulted in the interception of the implicated vehicle. The owner and driver of the vehicle were subsequently arrested. Upon searching the suspect’s home in Phase 4, La Horquetta, a 9mm magazine issued to National Security personnel, along with 10 rounds of 9mm ammunition, was discovered.
Investigations into the theft and ammunition-related issues are ongoing, led by PC Sammy.
