DJ Punz says Trinidad and Tobago’s Quantum Foundation has joined efforts to expand the Trinibad peace initiative, with plans covering international promotion, tours, artist development and business education.
Punz said the organisation came on board as supporters of the initiative and is willing to help those involved take the movement to a wider international audience.
He said planned activities go beyond performances and could include tours as well as programmes focused on developing artistes professionally.
According to Punz, one important area will involve teaching artistes how to conduct business, understand legal matters and identify multiple income streams from their work.
He argued that too many young artistes depend almost entirely on managers to secure income without learning how to generate revenue independently from their own craft.
Punz described the initiative as combining artist development and public relations while helping participants understand the commercial responsibilities that come with a music career.
The development forms part of a wider effort to use the current period of peace to reposition Trinibad around collaboration, professional growth and opportunities outside Trinidad and Tobago.
