Baïdy Agne, president of the National Employers’ Council (CNP) in Senegal, has called on the government to implement policies that prioritize companies with Senegalese capital in public procurement processes. Agne stated that the administration should provide concrete support for economic patriotism to strengthen the local private sector.
During his address, Agne advocated for a revised legal definition of what constitutes a national company. He argued that such a change is necessary to ensure that domestic businesses have improved access to government contracts. Furthermore, the CNP president emphasized the need for a revival of the construction sector, suggesting that public procurement projects should be structured to benefit local firms more effectively.
