In response to a threatening voice note circulating on social media, a significant raid took place at the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca. The operation, carried out overnight, resulted in the seizure of several mobile devices and critical intelligence related to the threats against senior law enforcement officials. Led by Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro and Commissioner of Prisons Carlos Corraspe, the coordinated effort involved multiple agencies including the Northern Division Criminal Investigations Department and Crime Scene Investigators. The raid, which spanned from 7 pm to 11 pm on July 22, 2025, was aimed at mitigating risks and disrupting potential internal communications linked to the threats. Officers searched various cells, recovering mobile devices, cigarettes, cannabis, and handwritten notes for further analysis. CoP Guevarro emphasized the operation’s importance in maintaining security and protecting law enforcement personnel, highlighting the collaboration between the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service and the Prisons Service.
