Prison Officer Keron ‘Diesel’ Lewis Detained in Organised Crime Crackdown

In an unprecedented move, a serving prison officer, Keron Lewis, has been detained under a Preventive Detention Order (PDO) as part of the government’s ongoing crackdown on organised crime during the state of emergency. Known by the alias ‘Diesel’, Lewis was among 24 individuals named in the latest official gazette, with the detention orders officially authorized by Minister of Homeland Security, Roger Alexander.

Authorities have raised suspicions regarding Lewis’s role in fomenting criminal activities within and outside the prison system. Investigators assert that he was instrumental in smuggling contraband into correctional facilities and acted as a mediator, relaying instructions from incarcerated individuals.

This clandestine operation, authorities believe, significantly bolstered organised criminal activities, including kidnappings and other violent offenses. The gravity of these actions, officials stated, posed a severe threat to public safety.

In a noteworthy development, Lewis is the first prison officer to be detained under a PDO during the current state of emergency. This move mirrors a similar action taken during the previous state of emergency, where a prison supervisor was held under similar circumstances in an effort to dismantle internal support networks aiding criminal enterprises.
