Police Probe Armed Robbery and Assault Along Lady Young Road
Police are investigating a robbery with aggravation that took place in the early hours of Sunday, December 14, 2025, along Lady Young Road in Belmont.
According to reports, shortly after midnight, two 21-year-old individuals were travelling east along Lady Young Road when they stopped near the road leading to Textile Hill. At that point, a suspect reportedly emerged from nearby bushes armed with a firearm and demanded money, warning the victims to remain silent.
Out of fear, both victims complied and lay on the ground as instructed. The suspect allegedly stole four gold rings valued at approximately TT$4,000 from one victim, as well as TT$300 and a bank card from the other.
The suspect then reportedly ordered the female victim to follow him up the hill, where he instructed her to remove some of her clothing. He is said to have recorded a video of her on his phone before returning the vehicle keys and fleeing the area.
The victims immediately left the scene and later reported the incident to the police.
Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect or the video to contact the police.
