An emotional appeal is being made for the safe return of an 85-year-old man who has been missing from his home in St. Augustine for several days.
Police officer Reynato Sanchez became visibly emotional during a recent interview as he spoke about his step-father, Frank Lovelace, who has been missing since February 24.
According to reports, Lovelace, who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, left his home in St. Augustine for what was believed to be a short walk. However, he never returned.
Since then, relatives, friends, and concerned members of the community have been searching and hoping for any information that could help bring him home safely.
During the interview, Sanchez struggled to hold back tears as he made a heartfelt appeal to anyone who may have seen his step-father or who might have information about his whereabouts.
The family says the situation is especially worrying because Lovelace’s medical condition may make it difficult for him to find his way back home or communicate clearly with strangers.
Authorities are urging members of the public to remain alert and to report any possible sightings.
Anyone with information that may assist in locating Frank Lovelace is encouraged to contact the police or reach out to the nearest police station immediately.
Family members say they remain hopeful that someone may recognize him and help reunite him with his loved ones.
