Police in Penal are investigating a tragic double death that unfolded at an apartment on Sundarsingh Trace on Friday, September 25, 2026. Authorities say the victims were 23‑year‑old Giselle Ougrah and 26‑year‑old Stephon Kandon, who had been living together for about a year.
Ougrah, a hairdresser who worked at a popular barbershop on Market Street in Princes Town, was last seen by family members when she left to visit Kandon on Wednesday, September 23. Her brother‑in‑law discovered her body after repeated, unanswered attempts to reach her by phone.
Preliminary reports indicate Ougrah was stabbed multiple times, while Kandon allegedly took his own life by hanging. The scene is now a police crime scene, and investigators are collecting evidence to determine whether the deaths were connected or separate incidents.
The Penal police have cordoned off the apartment and are interviewing neighbors and witnesses. No official statement has yet been released regarding motives or any potential suspects.
The case remains a developing story, with authorities urging anyone with information to come forward. The community is left grappling with the sudden loss of two young lives in what appears to be a violent and tragic event.
