Police Intercept Car in Morvant, Seize Two Firearms and Arrest Four Including Two Teens

North Eastern Division (NED) Task Force officers carried out Operation Resolute Shield on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 11 am to 3 pm, targeting the Morvant district after a robbery was reported earlier that day.

Teams led by W/Snr. Supt. Guy‑Alleyne and Ag/Asp Taylor, coordinated by Ag/Insp Ramsingh and Sgt Martin, focused on areas such as Second Caledonia, Vegas, Cipriani Avenue, Chinapoo, and Pitch Road. Officers located a red Hyundai suspected of involvement in the robbery and a brown Nissan Sentra with four occupants nearby.

A thorough search of the Nissan yielded a Smith & Wesson revolver loaded with four .38 rounds and a Beretta PX4 pistol equipped with a 16‑round 9 mm magazine. Both firearms and the ammunition were seized, and the two vehicles were impounded as evidence.

The operation resulted in the arrest of four individuals: two teenage boys aged 15 and 16, a 20‑year‑old man, and a 33‑year‑old man, all residents of San Juan. The arrests were supervised by Cpl Daneil, reinforcing the task force’s commitment to curbing gun‑related crime.

Police stressed that the seizure removes dangerous weapons from the streets and supports public safety. The investigation remains active, with authorities continuing to probe any connections to the earlier robbery. The Corporate Communications Unit issued the official media release on September 14, 2026.
