In a swift and intelligence-driven operation, Trinidad and Tobago police arrested three men and seized two illegal firearms in Arima, thwarting a planned retaliation shooting. The operation took place from July 6th to July 7th, 2025, following a recent homicide on Olton Road, where Rickel Bailey was fatally shot after being pursued by gunmen. Armed with actionable intelligence, officers from the Guard and Emergency Branch and the Inter-Agency Task Force focused on the Arima District, intercepting two vehicles that were speeding away from the scene. During the stop, police discovered a submachine gun and a pistol, leading to the arrest of Samuel Snaggs and Javan Alexander, the latter identified as a soldier. A third suspect, Nickail Perryman, was also apprehended. The operation was meticulously coordinated by various police units, and investigations are ongoing regarding the suspects’ motivations and connections to gang activities in the area.
