San Fernando police have successfully broken up a car-parts theft ring, recovering tens of thousands of dollars worth of stolen automotive components and arresting three suspects. The theft ring was exposed when the culprits stole a large quantity of car parts from a Cocoyea warehouse, using a company vehicle to transport the stolen goods. Two suspects were apprehended shortly after the theft, traced through the vehicle used. The investigation took a significant turn when a third suspect, Ronald Baboolal, attempted to sell some of the stolen parts on Facebook Marketplace. Police, already tipped off, set up a sting operation at C3 Centre, San Fernando, where Baboolal was arrested. Under interrogation, Baboolal led the police to a location in Hermitage, San Fernando, where most of the stolen parts were found. Charges are currently being finalized as the investigation continues.
