The Papua New Guinea Opposition has formally condemned the killing of 26-year-old medical officer Dr. Robert Waiye in Kundiawa, Simbu Province. Officials described the death as a significant loss to the nation and its healthcare sector.
Opposition Leader and Chuave MP James Nomane stated that Dr. Waiye was a dedicated professional who had returned to his home province to serve his community after completing his medical training. Nomane emphasized that the loss of such a young medical professional is a devastating blow to the country’s already strained health workforce.
