PML-N Defends Nawaz Sharif’s Politics Amid Criticism: Unity and Service Above Division

Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting Barrister Danyal Chaudhry on Saturday strongly defended former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s political approach, emphasizing it is rooted in national unity, public service, and democratic values. His comments came in response to criticism from Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

‘Taking Nawaz Sharif’s remarks out of context is unwarranted,’ Chaudhry stated, asserting that every address by the PML-N leader reflects the aspirations of the entire nation. He stressed that disrespecting any province, city, or region has never been part of Sharif’s political narrative.

Chaudhry reiterated that PML-N holds the people of Sindh, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and all other regions in equal esteem. Mutual respect, tolerance, and national harmony remain foundational principles of the party, he added.

‘Elements creating political friction constantly attempt to turn every statement into a controversy,’ the parliamentary secretary remarked, noting that Nawaz Sharif has consistently advocated for reconciliation, solidarity, and democratic norms. He rejected lectures on respecting public mandate, pointing out that Sharif was elected Prime Minister three times by the people of Pakistan.

Chaudhry advised critics of Punjab’s development to examine facts, citing PML-N’s past projects in infrastructure, health, and education as proof of performance. He urged political opponents who have lost public trust to focus on their own governance track records.
