Union Minister L Murugan and BJP leader V Muraleedharan marked Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17 by highlighting his 25 years of public service and his vision for a developed India. The Prime Minister, born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, has served in elected constitutional office since 2001, including his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat and his subsequent role as Prime Minister.
Speaking in Chennai, L Murugan credited the Prime Minister with overseeing significant infrastructure development, including the expansion of highways, railway networks, and the introduction of Vande Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains. Murugan also noted the Prime Minister’s recent presentation of a Russian translation of the Thirukkural to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the BRICS Summit. Murugan stated that he offered prayers at the Vadapalani Murugan Temple for the Prime Minister’s health and continued leadership in pursuit of the Viksit Bharat 2047 goal.
In Thiruvananthapuram, V Muraleedharan announced that the Bharatiya Janata Party has initiated the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, a campaign running from September 17 to October 7, to coincide with the date the Prime Minister completes 25 years in elected office. Muraleedharan emphasized the Prime Minister’s philosophy that service to the people is equivalent to service to the nation.
The birthday was marked by widespread well-wishes from across the political spectrum. Several senior BJP figures, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and various state Chief Ministers, extended their greetings. Opposition leaders, including Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, and Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, also conveyed their wishes for the Prime Minister’s health and longevity.
