PM DREW WARNS POLITICAL OPPONENTS OVER MEDICAL RECORDS!

St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Dr. Terrance Drew has reportedly warned political opponents to “back off” over questions surrounding his recent illness, suggesting he knows which politicians have sought hospital treatment.

Following Drew’s stroke in August 2026, questions about his health, recovery and ability to discharge his official duties entered the political debate. Drew subsequently announced that doctors had cleared him to resume full duties.

But has the Prime Minister now blurred the line between political confrontation and patient confidentiality?

Referring to politicians receiving hospital treatment, Drew reportedly declared:

“Do you know I know, as a medical specialist, all the politicians who go to the hospital for treatment … and I never talk about it.”

He reportedly added:

“Trust me, you don’t want me to talk. Leave me alone.”

Drew is not only the country’s Prime Minister. He is also a medical doctor with professional obligations to protect confidential patient information.

His critics may question his health, but does that justify invoking knowledge of other people’s private medical treatment?

There is no established evidence here that Drew accessed or disclosed anyone’s medical records. However, does even suggesting such a possibility undermine public confidence in medical confidentiality?

Political office does not cancel medical ethics.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐐𝐔𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍: Was this simply a political warning, or a statement that raises serious questions about professional ethics, patient confidentiality and the boundaries of political power?
