Erjon Vishkulli, a 28‑year‑old supporter of the Albanian national football team, sustained a serious eye injury during a protest that called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama. According to reports, Vishkulli was struck in the eye by a metal pipe used by police officers. He was taken to a hospital the following day, where he underwent a surgical procedure to treat the injury. Vishkulli is a member of the “Tifozët Kuqezi” group, a fan organization that supports the national team. The incident occurred amid heightened tensions during the demonstration, which attracted a large number of supporters and activists. The Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) responded to the incident by offering assistance for Vishkulli’s medical treatment and recovery. FSHF President Armand Duka posted a statement on social media expressing his concern and solidarity with Vishkulli and his family. In the post, Duka wrote: > “The severe injury sustained by Erjon Vishkulli has deeply affected me. I want to express my solidarity with Erjon and his family during this difficult time. The Albanian Football Federation is ready to provide concrete help for his treatment and recovery, in coordination with his family. Erjon has always been a passionate supporter of our national team. Today, the Kuqezi family stands with him. From the heart, I wish him a swift recovery.” The FSHF’s statement confirms the federation’s willingness to support Vishkulli’s medical needs and to coordinate with his family to facilitate his rehabilitation.
