A suspect from Santiago, who resides in Boa Vista, was arrested on November 3 by the Polícia Judiciária’s Department of Criminal Investigation in Boa Vista. The arrest followed a warrant issued by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the same jurisdiction. According to the Polícia Judiciária, the individual is suspected of having committed a sexual assault against a child who also lives on the island. The alleged crime is described as having been carried out with material authorship and in a consummated form. In addition to being required to appear periodically before authorities, the suspect is prohibited from leaving Boa Vista without judicial authorization and from contacting the victim.
