**RTÉ’s “The Traitors Ireland” launches second season**
RTÉ’s reality‑competition series *The Traitors Ireland* returned to broadcast on Sunday, 30 August, beginning its second season with a lineup of contestants drawn from across the Republic of Ireland.
Among the participants is Galway‑based human‑resources specialist Saoirse, who was introduced in the opening episode. The show features contestants from Cork, Dublin, Donegal, Mayo, Galway, Tipperary, Westmeath, Leitrim, Carlow and Kildare, reflecting a broad geographic representation.
In the first episode, three contestants were identified as the season’s “Traitors”:
* Carla, an early‑years educator from Dublin;
* Páraic, an assistant professor from Kildare; and
* Fionula, an actor and drama teacher from Cork.
All remaining participants are designated as “Faithfuls” unless recruited by the identified Traitors as the series progresses.
The programme is hosted by actress Siobhán McSweeney, known for her role in *Derry Girls*. New episodes air on RTÉ One and are simultaneously available on the RTÉ Player on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. A companion after‑show, *The Traitors Ireland Uncloaked*, follows each episode to discuss developments in the competition.
The series, which blends elements of strategy and social deduction, continues to attract considerable local interest as viewers follow the unfolding alliances and betrayals.
