Pemkot Pekanbaru Tanam 6.225 Meter Kabel ke Bawah Tanah, Wajah Kota Lebih Rapi.

Pekanbaru, Riau – The City Government of Pekanbaru has buried 6,225 metres of tangled network cables underground as part of an effort to improve the city’s appearance and enhance road safety. The project, overseen by the City Secretariat (Setdako), aims to eliminate low‑lying cables that pose a hazard to motorists, particularly motorbike riders. Assistant I of Setdako, Syamsuir, explained that the initiative not only cleans up the streets but also reduces the risk of accidents caused by exposed cables. “This is part of the city’s layout plan as directed by the Mayor. The municipality has partnered with several providers for this work,” he said in Pekanbaru on Saturday. One of the first streets to be treated is Jalan Ronggo Warsito, which now appears cleaner and more orderly without the previous tangle of cables. The effort was carried out by the Department of Communication, Informatics, Statistics and Ciphering (Diskominfotiksan) in collaboration with seven network providers: PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Mega Akses Persada (Fiberstar), PT Supra Primatama Nusantara (Biznet), PT iForte Solusi Infotek, PT Indonesia Comnets Plus (Icon Plus), PT Mora Telematika Indonesia (Moratelindo), and PT Aplikanusa Lintasarta. The city’s plan is to continue the undergrounding process on other roads in a phased manner. “The work will continue to target additional road sections gradually,” Syamsuir added. The project follows a recent incident in which a motorbike rider was injured after colliding with a low‑lying cable. The incident highlighted the need for stricter oversight of aerial network installations to protect road users.
