**Pakistan Secures $3 billion in International Bonds to Repay Saudi Loan**
Islamabad – Pakistan has raised $3 billion from international investors through a bond issuance aimed at repaying a short‑term loan from Saudi Arabia. The government issued the bonds in two tranches:
* **$1.75 billion** with a 5.5‑year maturity at a 7.5 % interest rate.
* **$1.25 billion** with a 10‑year maturity at a 7.9 % interest rate.
The sale marks Pakistan’s largest single international bond issuance to date. The proceeds will be used to settle the outstanding Saudi loan, helping to reduce the country’s short‑term external debt.
