Conditions at the Sangre Grande municipal station have deteriorated to a concerning level, raising eyebrows and creating a health crisis for local officers. Not once but twice, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has inspected the facilities and granted extensions to the Sangre Grande regional corporation for necessary improvements. Despite these interventions, no substantial changes have been made. The situation has taken a toll on the health of officers, leading to frequent sickness and financial stress due to regular doctor visits and medication expenses. This is particularly vexing since, to the best of our knowledge, each corporation is provided with funds specifically allocated for municipal police. Yet, year after year, no significant investment appears to be made in the wellbeing of the police force.
