In a shocking turn of events, a police officer and another individual have been charged with the murder of Vishnu Lalla. The accused, Police Constable Jason Beetham and Govinda Lalchan, were taken into custody after instructions were received to charge them on November 17th. A third person, previously detained, has been released. Lalla, a 63-year-old resident of California, was last seen alive on November 8th, 2025, shortly before his vehicle was seen speeding away from his home. A ransom demand of $100,000 was made for his safe return, which was later negotiated down to $50,000. Investigators now believe that Lalla was killed before the ransom was paid, indicating that money was not the primary motive for his abduction and murder. The ransom was later recovered by homicide detectives. Lalla’s cremation was held on November 13th, 2025.
