An off-duty police officer from the St. Joseph CID is under arrest following a troubling series of events that began at a local bar and culminated in a home invasion. The incident unfolded early on the morning of July 7, 2025, at approximately 5:00 a.m. Officers from the San Fernando Police Station responded to reports of a disturbance on Independence Avenue, where they detained the officer. Initial investigations reveal that the officer was socializing at a bar on Cipero Street when he allegedly brandished his firearm at a woman he knew, as well as the security guard at the venue. Despite attempts by both individuals to calm him down, he left the bar. The situation escalated when he reportedly followed the woman to her home on Independence Avenue. Once there, he broke down the gate and entered the property without permission, claiming several items inside belonged to him. When police arrived at the scene, they found the officer behaving erratically and exhibiting a strong odor of alcohol. He was taken into custody and is currently being held at the San Fernando Police Station while investigations are ongoing.
