The National Registration Bureau (NRB) has announced the start of the fourth phase of its child registration exercise in four districts across Malawi. According to a statement signed by NRB Chief Secretary Patrick Machika, the registration will take place from July 28 to August 6, 2026, in Mulanje, Thyolo, Chikwawa, and Nsanje.
The initiative aims to provide national identity documents to children, ensuring they have access to essential services such as education and healthcare. The NRB has urged parents and guardians in the designated districts to bring their children for registration during the specified period.
This phase follows previous successful rounds, and the bureau says it remains committed to reaching every child in the country. No further details on logistics or statistical targets were provided in the announcement.
