Not attending, but still proud of Caribbean music worldwide.

International performing artist Yung Bredda has confirmed that he will not be attending the Caribbean Music Awards (CMAs) this year, citing past disappointments with the organizers despite previously winning multiple awards.

In a candid statement, the Trinidadian performer explained that while he is proud of the recognition Caribbean culture is receiving on the international stage, his personal experiences with the CMAs have left him feeling overlooked.

> “I won a couple awards last year — two or three — and they never reached out to me, never messaged me or sent me anything. I felt real bad about it, so I just never looked forward to it again. I saw certain artists who weren’t even there still get their awards shipped to them, but up to now, nothing ever reached me,” he said.

Despite this disappointment, Yung Bredda stressed that he continues to support his fellow artists and the wider Caribbean music movement.

> “Congrats to all the artistes who are going to be there representing for Caribbean culture — whether it’s Soca, Reggae, Dancehall or Bouyon. I’m very proud that our culture is being highlighted throughout the USA and making an impact on the world.”

He also noted that while the CMAs no longer bring him excitement, he remains grateful for his journey, his fans, and the positive impact he has been able to make through music.

> “The only award that might excite me now is a Grammy,” he added.

For Yung Bredda, the focus remains on building his craft, uplifting the Caribbean, and staying true to the fans who continue to support his music worldwide.
