On the evening of 3 September, the Estonian Concert Hall hosted a performance by the French Youth Orchestra conducted by Kristiina Poska.
After the concert, the author described feeling a strong emotional response, noting that the experience was both controversial and joyful.
The author observed that youth orchestras often play with greater enthusiasm than professional ensembles, a characteristic also evident in the French Youth Orchestra.
Poska described the ensemble as a “tundlikumaks instrumendiks” (more sensitive instrument) compared to professional orchestras, adding that working with the group brings a pedagogical and psychological dimension to conducting.
She noted that the orchestra responded to her with exceptional energy on stage.
