Nigeria’s junior men’s handball team has secured a place in the 2027 International Handball Federation (IHF) Men’s Under‑21 World Championship, which will be held in North Macedonia.
The National Sports Commission (NSC) announced the qualification on its X account, confirming that the team earned its spot by defeating Guinea 28‑23 in the quarter‑final of the 33rd African Junior Handball Championship.
The victory over Guinea was the decisive match that granted Nigeria entry into the world championship, where teams from around the globe will compete for the title.
Details of the tournament schedule and the list of qualified teams are expected to be released by the IHF in the coming months.
