A 19-year-old man was fatally shot by police in Mississauga, Ontario, following an investigation that began with a report of a shooting in downtown Toronto. The incident resulted in the arrest of three individuals, including a 17-year-old girl, who face numerous charges related to the use of firearms.
The arrests were made in connection with a report received on Wednesday at approximately 5:50 pm, in which officers were informed of a person with a gun near The Esplanade and Lower Jarvis Street. The Toronto Police Service launched an investigation and identified a suspect and a allegedly involved vehicle, a Mercedes.
The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating the fatal shooting. Three people have been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. The charges are related to the use of firearms.
According to reports, the investigation began in Toronto and concluded in Mississauga with the fatal shooting of the 19-year-old man. The SIU has not released further details on the incident.
