Thefts and Vandalism Prompt OPP Warning to Mattawa Youth

The North Bay Ontario Provincial Police have responded to a number of incidents involving youth behavior in the Mattawa area over the past several weeks. The incidents have included reports of theft, property damage, trespassing, and the unsafe use of motorized vehicles in public spaces.

The OPP is reminding youth that entering private property without permission is not acceptable and that theft, vandalism, and mischief can result in criminal charges. The police are also urging young people to treat public spaces with respect and to keep them clean and safe for everyone.

Additionally, the OPP is reminding youth that motorized vehicles, including dirt bikes and off-road vehicles, must be operated in accordance with provincial legislation and local bylaws. The police are encouraging young people to make positive choices to help build a stronger and safer community for everyone.

Community members are being encouraged to report any suspicious activity or criminal behavior to the police as soon as possible. Timely reporting can assist officers in identifying those responsible and preventing further incidents.
