Nepal will host the 2026 Initiatives of Change International Trust-building Awards Ceremony on November 28, 2026, in Kathmandu, according to a press release issued by Initiatives of Change Nepal (IofC Nepal) on September 15.
The annual Trust-building Awards, organized by Initiatives of Change International, recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to building trust, strengthening social cohesion, promoting reconciliation, and fostering peaceful and inclusive societies worldwide.
In its announcement, IofC Nepal said that hosting the event marks a milestone for the country and highlights Nepal’s growing role in global peacebuilding, dialogue, reconciliation, and trust-building initiatives.
President Kamal Kandel of IofC Nepal stated that three prestigious awards will be presented at the ceremony: Trust-builder of the Year, Young Trust-builder of the Year, and Lifetime Achiever Award.
The Young Trust-builder of the Year award will honor an inspiring individual under the age of 30 who is leading innovative trust-building initiatives and motivating young people to become agents of positive change. The Lifetime Achiever Award will recognize an individual whose lifelong dedication has made an extraordinary contribution to trust-building, reconciliation, and lasting peace.
Kandel said the awards “not only celebrate outstanding achievements but also provide an international platform to showcase successful trust-building models that inspire communities around the world.”
Winners will join a growing global network of trust-builders and will have opportunities to engage internationally, share their experiences, and strengthen collaboration with peace-builders from across the world.
The event is expected to welcome distinguished international guests, representatives from civil society, governments, diplomatic missions, faith communities, youth organizations, academia, development partners, and media from different parts of the world.
