The 2026 DTI-Bagong Pilipinas National Trade Fair concluded its five-day run at SM Megamall, generating P128.85 million in total sales and attracting 4,388 visitors. The event, organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in partnership with the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Coconut Authority, aimed to provide micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with a platform to reach consumers and potential buyers ahead of the holiday season. Of the total revenue, P44.50 million was attributed to direct cash and booked transactions, while P84.34 million comprised orders currently under negotiation. These pending transactions represent potential future business as exhibitors continue discussions with institutional and retail buyers. The fair featured a diverse range of locally produced goods, including food, beverages, wellness and beauty products, home decor, and handicrafts. A dedicated section, branded as COCONUTPhilippines, highlighted various coconut-based products. Participating entrepreneurs noted that the event provided critical exposure beyond their local markets. Jero Carlo Labajo of Lao Integrated Farms Inc., a Davao del Sur-based business specializing in organic coconut sugar and seasonings, stated that the fair allowed them to reach a broader audience and gain insights from other MSMEs on product development. Other exhibitors reported similar benefits. Eileen Annersand, founder of the Antipolo-based Buko Coolers, noted positive consumer reception to her company’s coconut-based ice cream and coffee. Kirsten Liamzon-Go, founder of Akasi Essentials, highlighted the event’s role in facilitating connections with bulk and institutional buyers. Additionally, Gloria and Jhun Tolentino of Gregorio’s Arts and Handicrafts credited DTI training programs for assisting them in refining their business operations and exploring potential export opportunities.
