NASA aircraft flies high over B.C. wildfires to study pyrocumulonimbus clouds

A NASA research aircraft flew over British Columbia’s wildfires to study pyrocumulonimbus clouds, which are weather events generated by large blazes. The high-altitude flight took place over the weekend. According to reports, the goal of the flight was to gain a better understanding of these weather events. The research aircraft was operating over the province of British Columbia, Canada.
